Detroit early demise began when it became a major industrial hub. Where there is big money, comes big political regulation. Politicians looked towards Detroit, for an opportunity to make Detroit a major political power house. When Politicians began to demand too much from Automakers, the one thing keeping Detroit going, they decided to leave.
Corruption began as early as the 1930s in Detroit, some say that it also flourished as city hall was a majority white association.
