Future of Detroit
Poverty isn't an issue that be fixed in one day. Poverty is an issue that takes lots of time and needs a lot of contribution from many different people in order to fix it. By fix it I don't mean to completely eliminate poverty. Poverty has a always existed even in the best of times. All that can be done is lower it to a point where poverty isn't a huge issue in Detroit's economy.
How entrepreneurs can improve Detroit
Poverty isn't an issue that can be fixed in a day. However with the contribution and effort of many different parties Detroit can become great again. In an article I read from the New York Times called The Post-Apocalyptic Detroit. In this article it talked about how they're were a plentiful amount of investors who were investing a lot of money in Detroit. Dan Gilbert, better known as the Cleveland Cavaliers owner has invested over 500 million in Detroit so far. As bad as Detroit is it still offers a lot to young people or just entrepreneurs in general. It's cheap land and there is lots of it in Detroit as well as also offering cheap living conditions. Detroit, Michigan is not gonna be fixed overnight it's gonna be fixed in a very timely way that can span a lot of years. In order to fix Detroit there must be more contribution from neighboring suburbs as well as the actual Detroit Government. If these two can provide more help for the city of Detroit then the city should be able to become functional in no time. Detroit's successful neighboring suburbs are being selfish and are neglecting to help Detroit, citing that they should be worried about themselves first and then as long as Detroit fits certain regulations or standards the want to see in place then they would help them.
The government is also In complete chaos too. They are trying to help the city of Detroit however they are doing this the right way. In attempt to relocate Detroit residents, the Detroit government was cutting off water to those who haven't paid which in turn is a big population of residents who now don't have a basic necessity. All in all I believe that as long as Detroit keeps bringing in investors such as Dan Gilbert who are willing to invest big bucks to the city and as long as the government and other close by suburbs lend a hand to Detroit the city should be able to become a good, functioning city in the long run

Alan Pyke on fixing Detroit
In another article I read by a website called Thinkprogress talks about how Detroit should go about this situation. Alan Pyke the author of this piece How Detroit can bounce back from Bankruptcy , suggests that the city of Detroit should focus their rebuild not on the complete city but on the parts of the city that would flourish. His train of thought is that there is simply not enough people coming into the city of Detroit, in fact they are losing more people than they're coming. Alan Pyke suggests that Detroit should remake their city, by remake he means make the city smaller and more flexible. However he also says that cities that go through bankruptcy's have a hard times getting back on their own feet, they usually need help from the government. At the time when this article was written congress was thinking about stepping into this situation and covering the 18 billion budget gap.
